Journey to Growth - Conviction
July 15, 2016
“The quality that distinguishes a successful person from one who is otherwise like him is the capacity to manage disappointment and loss”---John Maxwell
In life, sooner or later we all experience pain and losses, such as loss of loved ones, loss of jobs, loss of opportunities, financial crisis, relationship issues and health issues, etc.
When we are dealing with pain or losses, everything hurts. We could get emotionally stuck and mentally defeated.
After experiencing many looses and pain in my life, I have learned that how do we deal with any given situation or circumstance makes a big difference in life. The fact is that every circumstance in life has its opposite; our painful situations can be seen two ways.
If something is very bad then it holds the potential to be very good.
If a situation is terrible then it can also be fantastic from a different point of view.
If poverty did not exist, we would not know what it was like to experience wealth.
If failure did not exist, we wouldn't know what it meant to be successful.
Do you have the conviction to overcome your challenges and turn you pain or losses into gain? When you do; you will experience a great growth.
Please know that conviction is to have an unshakable belief, which generates great hope and leads to possibilities.
Turn your pain into gain
Increase your capacity for making good decisions
Take responsibility for your life
Author's Personal Story (Part 3):
I came from a background in which I had been so well cared for by others that I hadn't learned to do simple things - such as fill up the gas tank in my car and many other ordinary everyday things. My husband had taken care of so many things for me that his unexpected death left me almost unable to function in any normal way.
As my family and some close friends helped me to get through this darkest period of my life, I became determined to live life differently. I wanted to learn how to live an independent life, how to do ordinary everyday things for myself, how to relate to people better, how to handle stress and anxiety with increased ease, and how to solve some real-life problems effectively.
My conviction turned my pain and loss into a positive growth, and helped me become the person I am today.
